Apple has successfully defended itself against claims of patent infringement related to Bluetooth pairing for AirPods. One-E-Way had argued that their patents for a "unique user code" were infringed by Apple's pairing system, claiming that pairing with a device is equivalent to pairing with a specific user. However, the judge ruled that a unique user code is not the same as a unique device code, stating that a user and a device are different things, even if a device is only used by a single user.
