Global Muslims Unite in Celebration of Eid al-Fitr
The Ojala Foundation hosted an Eid al-Fitr celebration in Jefferson Park's LaBagh Woods, attended by hundreds of Muslims from Chicago and neighboring suburbs. The event featured a circle of buffet-style food from various backgrounds, including Brazilian, Pakistani, and African cuisines, representing the diversity of participants. The prayers were conducted in Spanish, making it the first all-Spanish Eid prayer service in Chicago. The Ojala Foundation aims to bring Latino Muslims together in their faith and is hoping to open a physical location for their group on the West Side by the end of the year.
