Coast Guard pays tribute to Petty Officer Tyler Jaggers after offshore rescue injuries

Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Tyler Jaggers, an aviation survival technician with Air Station Astoria, Oregon, died from injuries sustained during a February offshore rescue of a distressed mariner aboard the motor vessel Momi Arrow about 120 nautical miles west of Cape Flattery. He was honored posthumously with meritorious advancement to Petty Officer 2nd Class and awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross during a ceremony, as the Coast Guard conducts an investigation into the cause of his injuries.
