Russian Military Excludes Ukraine's Occupied Regions from New Conscription Round
Russia's Defense Ministry announced that the occupied regions of Ukraine, including Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia, will be included for the first time in a new round of Russian military conscriptions starting from October 1. These regions were annexed by Russia last year following disputed referendums. The conscription will not involve sending military personnel to these regions or participating in their special military operations. While regular conscriptions will take place, Russia has no plans for further mobilizations.
