Bay to Breakers: Winners announced as attendance surges for San Francisco's iconic race.
Thousands of runners, many in wacky costumes, participated in the annual Bay to Breakers footrace in San Francisco. Colin Bennie and Sarah Anderson were the fastest male and female runners, respectively, while Cal Calamia won the nonbinary category for the second year in a row. The race, which included a nonbinary category for the first time last year, saw an increase in registration with 17,000 runners. The event, which has been held since 1912, was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.
