The Owasso Police Department has released new surveillance and body camera footage showing 16-year-old Nex Benedict in the hours after they were assaulted and before they died, with Nex stating that they were being bullied due to the way they dress. The footage includes security footage of Benedict and other students at Owasso High School and police body cam footage of an officer speaking to Nex and their mother in an emergency room. The police are waiting for the results of a toxicology report to determine the cause of Nex's death, which has been determined not to be from the trauma of the fight in the bathroom.
