A new nighttime spectacular called Luminous: The Symphony of Us will debut at EPCOT in Walt Disney World Resort on December 5. The show will feature fireworks, fountains, and Disney music.
Disney has confirmed that "Fantasmic!" will still be performed for day guests on dates with Disney Jollywood Nights events at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Disney Jollywood Nights is a separately ticketed event that will take place from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on select nights between November 11 and December 20, 2023. The event will feature attractions open after hours, including Slinky Dog Dash, Rock N' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Different entertainment areas in the park will be inspired by different genres.
Disneyland's nighttime spectacular "Fantasmic!" will be on hiatus through at least Labor Day as the park evaluates the show and adds new magic for guests. The iconic Maleficent dragon used in the show caught fire during a performance in April and was completely destroyed. When the show returns, it will likely be performed in "B-Mode" with the dragon projected on a mist screen. "Fantasmic!" first debuted in Disneyland in 1992 and features characters and music from Disney films, projections on screens of water, pyrotechnics, and both the Sailing Ship Columbia and Mark Twain Riverboat.
