Blue Jays Acquire Andrés Giménez and Nick Sandlin from Guardians
The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired second baseman Andrés Giménez and pitcher Nick Sandlin from the Cleveland Guardians in exchange for infielder Spencer Horwitz, who was subsequently traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Giménez, a three-time Gold Glove winner, joins the Blue Jays after signing a seven-year, $106.5 million contract with the Guardians. The Blue Jays also signed pitcher Yimi García to a two-year deal, marking their second major move of the day.
