Taunton Crossing Guard Arrested Twice in One Day for Assaults
Former Taunton crossing guard Louis Chaves faces additional charges for allegedly assaulting news professionals covering a separate assault case he was involved in. Chaves, 68, was initially charged for hitting a mother with his stop sign stick and was later caught on camera attacking a news cameraman. Despite his attorney citing his lack of prior criminal history and a speech impediment causing anxiety, Chaves was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation, though his bail was not revoked.
