Trump's Attempt to Move Hush Money Case to Federal Court Denied by Judges
A federal judge has denied former President Donald Trump's request to move the criminal case against him from state to federal court. The Manhattan district attorney's office has charged Trump with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records related to a hush money payment made to a porn star in 2016. Trump's lawyers argued that the case should be heard in federal court because it involved conduct he engaged in while president, but the judge ruled that the behavior in question was personal and not related to the office of the presidency. The case will proceed in New York State Supreme Court.
