"Multiple Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s, Bonefish Grill, and Fleming’s Locations to Close Across the US"
Bloomin' Brands Inc., the parent company of Outback Steakhouse and other popular restaurants, is closing 41 underperforming locations across its portfolio, including Outback Steakhouse, Bonefish Grill, Carrabba's Italian Grill, and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. The decision, announced by CEO David Deno, is based on factors such as sales, traffic-trade areas, and the investment needed to improve the restaurants. The company does not plan to release a list of the impacted restaurants, but it aims to open 40 to 45 new restaurants in 2024. Additionally, Outback Steakhouse plans to open 75 to 100 new restaurants with a revamped design focusing on in-restaurant dining, take-away, delivery, and catering.
