Ice cream preferences and dominance in the U.S. revealed by Instacart and Dairy Queen
Instacart analyzed its purchase data to determine the most popular ice cream flavors in each state compared to the national average. While vanilla remains the top choice for nearly half of the country, chocolate is also a popular contender, particularly on the East Coast. Mint chip and coffee flavors are favored in multiple states, while rocky road and moose tracks also have their fans. Washington, D.C. stands out with a preference for strawberry ice cream. With heatwaves affecting many Americans, ice cream consumption is expected to increase, with Instacart reporting a 22% rise in ice cream deliveries per customer in July compared to the yearly average.
