"Captivity Chronicles: Animator's Anguished Short Explores Brothers' Ordeal"

Animator Yoni Goodman, known for his work on "Waltz with Bashir," has created a powerful 80-second short film titled "Disaster." The film tells the story of Or and Yagil Yaakov, two teenage brothers who were abducted by Hamas terrorists from their home in Kibbutz Nir Oz. The film, narrated by their mother Renana Gome, depicts the boys' terror as they try to hold the safe room door shut against the intruders. Goodman wanted to create a film that conveyed the emotional impact of the event without resorting to visual terror. The short aims to raise awareness and put pressure on countries to help in hostage negotiation.
