"Godzilla Minus One Returns to Theaters in Stunning Black and White"
A black-and-white version of Godzilla Minus One, titled Godzilla-1.0/C, will be released in Japanese theaters on January 12, 2024. The director, Takashi Yamazaki, stated that the monochrome edition is not simply a conversion, but a cut-by-cut adjustment to create a new movie with a style resembling masters of monochrome photography. The film takes Godzilla back to its post-WWII origin, showcasing the monster's destructive rampage in Japan. The black-and-white version received positive reviews and was praised for its hopeful tone and portrayal of Japan's history.
