The couple managed to recover around $3,500 by piecing together the bills and collecting what Cecil vomited or passed in the following days. The bank replaced the bills that could be taped together with identifiable serial numbers. Cecil remained healthy throughout the ordeal, and the family took the incident in stride, even considering framing some of the damaged bills as a memento of the bizarre event.
