"Prison Staffers Advocate Clemency for Exemplary Death Row Inmate"
Dozens of Missouri Department of Corrections staff members are urging Gov. Mike Parson to grant clemency to Brian Dorsey, a man scheduled to die in April for killing his cousin and her husband, describing him as a "model inmate." The former warden and 60 corrections officers and staff members signed a letter in support of Dorsey, stating that he has stayed out of trouble and been respectful during his time in prison. Dorsey's execution is also opposed by his cousin, who was related to the victims, and his attorney has filed a petition claiming he was denied effective counsel and was experiencing drug psychosis at the time of the crime.
