Democratic Party Official Attacked and Carjacked in Minneapolis, Calls for Stronger Crime Laws
Shivanthi Sathanandan, a Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party official who previously advocated for dismantling the Minneapolis Police Department, is now calling for tougher crime laws after being violently carjacked outside her home. Sathanandan suffered a broken leg, head lacerations, and bruises during the attack, which occurred in front of her young children. She expressed anger and called for the perpetrators to be brought to justice, emphasizing the need to get illegal guns off the streets and hold young offenders accountable. Despite her previous stance, Sathanandan thanked the Minneapolis Police Department for their assistance. No suspects have been arrested yet.
