Iran's Upgraded Hypersonic Missile Signals Israel's Failure, Says Khamenei
Iran has unveiled an upgraded version of its hypersonic missile, the Fattah II, during a military exhibition attended by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The missile is a hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV) capable of traveling at speeds of up to Mach 15 with a range of 1,400km. Iran aims to improve the missile's range to 2,000km, which would cover the distance to Israel. Khamenei condemned Israel and its Western allies for their actions in Gaza, calling for Islamic governments to sever political relations and cut energy and goods flow to Israel. The military show of force coincides with increased US military presence in the region and ongoing cross-border fighting between Iran-backed groups and Israel.
