Deadly Incidents Close and Reopen I-71.
A fatal accident on I-71 northbound at Bagley Road in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, occurred early Friday morning, killing 61-year-old Nabil Haikal, who was standing outside his car when a 2020 Honda Civic struck him and the driver's side door. The driver of the Honda Civic was transported to Southwest General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The crash is under investigation, and charges are pending, but impairment is suspected. All northbound traffic has reopened as of 6 a.m.
