Dozens Injured as LATAM's Boeing 787 Plummets Mid-Flight
At least 50 people were injured when a LATAM Airlines Boeing 787 experienced a sudden drop mid-flight from Sydney to Auckland, with 10 passengers and three crew members taken to the hospital. The cause of the incident is under investigation, and the FAA and NTSB are expected to be involved. The aircraft, en route to Santiago via Auckland, landed as scheduled, and a new flight to Chile will depart from Auckland on Tuesday. Boeing shares closed down about 3% following the incident, and the company is working to gather more information and provide support to the airline.
