"22-Year-Old Charged in Meijer mPerks Identity Theft Case by Michigan AG"
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has charged Nicholas Mui with nine felony counts, including identity theft and conducting a criminal enterprise, for stealing Meijer mPerks program data. Mui allegedly used a personal computer to obtain login credentials and sold the data using encrypted chats, cryptocurrency, and digital wallets. Over 300 Meijer customers had their data compromised, but all affected customers have been reimbursed for their lost points. Mui was arraigned with a $25,000 bond and is due for a hearing on January 9.
