Masashi ‘Jumbo’ Ozaki, a legendary Japanese golfer with 113 tournament wins and a Hall of Famer, has died at 78 due to colon cancer. Known for his long drives and outgoing personality, he was a dominant figure in Japanese golf, winning 94 titles on the Japan Golf Tour and earning the nickname ‘Jumbo’. His career highlights include a highest world ranking of No. 5 and participation in 49 majors, with a top finish of T-6 at the 1989 U.S. Open. Ozaki was also recognized culturally, with a video game and music career, and was related to other professional golfers. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2011.
