Sean Penn came to the rescue of Golden Globes pre-show host Marc Malkin after his electric car ran out of charge on the way back from the Palm Springs Film Festival, with Penn and his publicist helping push Malkin's car to a working charger. Malkin, who is co-hosting the official digital red carpet pre-show for the Golden Globe Awards, made it back in time for the event thanks to Penn's assistance. Penn had been in Palm Springs to introduce Penélope Cruz at the festival and praised her in a speech over the weekend.
