Chiefs Tap Two Regional Firms as Finalists for KC Stadium Design
The Kansas City Chiefs announced that regional firms MANICA and Populous advanced to the final stage to design the team's new $3 billion fixed-roof stadium in Wyandotte County, with funding split 60% public (STAR bonds and the Attracting Professional Sports to Kansas Fund) and 40% private, plus $1 billion in additional Hunt-family development. Groundbreaking targets the 2031 NFL season and the project is expected to generate more than 20,000 construction jobs and billions in economic impact, with thousands of ongoing roles and more than $1 billion in annual regional impact. Both firms bring extensive global stadium experience.
