Laura Linney and Jessica Hecht star in David Auburn's new play, "Summer, 1976," as unlikely friends whose relationship has the intensity of a love affair. The Manhattan Theater Club production, directed by Daniel Sullivan, is a memory play about two women in their 50s recalling a pivotal time in their 20s. The play is scheduled to open on April 25 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theater.
