Several celebrities, including Kangana Ranaut, Bipasha Basu, Mandira Bedi, and Mini Mathur, have criticized Poonam Pandey for faking her death from cervical cancer as a "pathetic publicity stunt." They slammed her for demeaning an important cause and playing with people's emotions. Ashoke Pandit demanded legal action against Poonam for spreading fake news and insulting the medical fraternity and patients fighting the disease.
