"Louis Armstrong's Archive Finds a Home at Queens' New Center"

The Louis Armstrong Center, a new $26 million facility, has opened across the street from the Louis Armstrong House Museum in Queens, New York. The center will house the world's largest archive for any single jazz musician, containing 60,000 items related to Louis Armstrong. The facility aims to expand access to the museum and showcase Armstrong's extensive collection, including homemade tape recordings, scrapbook photo collages, and personal artifacts. The inaugural exhibition, titled "Here to Stay," was curated by pianist Jason Moran and celebrates Armstrong's enduring legacy.
