Cannes Film Festival Head in Altercation with Local Cop on Croisette
Thierry Frémaux, the delegate general of the Cannes Film Festival, was involved in an altercation with a local police officer in Cannes after riding his electric bicycle on the pavement in front of the Carlton hotel. Video footage shows Frémaux in a heated argument with the officer, who pushed him to one side and prevented him from entering the hotel. The incident was quickly resolved with Frémaux and the officer shaking hands in the end. Frémaux had announced at his opening press conference that he would be riding a bicycle to reduce his carbon footprint.
