Coast Guard hunts for six missing after Lily Jean sinks off Gloucester
A 72-foot fishing boat Lily Jean sank about 25 miles off Cape Ann near Gloucester, leaving one dead and six missing. Coast Guard crews found a debris field and an empty life raft, and recovered a body not wearing a survival suit; no Mayday was issued. The search, involving helicopters, cutters and a fixed-wing aircraft, continued overnight as officials and Gov. Healey expressed concern for the crew and families.
