Rudy Giuliani's Bankruptcy Battle: Legal Fees, Donor Details, and Trump's Campaign
Bankruptcy judge allows Rudy Giuliani to appeal the $146 million defamation judgment, but he must use pre-approved donors to pay legal expenses and cannot use his existing assets. The judgment came after Giuliani baselessly accused two Georgia elections workers of fraud in an effort to overturn Donald Trump's 2020 election defeat. The bankruptcy judge ruled that any fees and expenses incurred in the defamation case cannot be paid by Giuliani or his estate. Giuliani's son is president of Giuliani Defense, a legal defense fund, and questions have been raised about how the funds were funded.
