Rampaging Elephant Breaks Free from Circus, Roams Montana Town
An elephant briefly escaped from the Jordan World Circus in Butte, running loose on Harrison Avenue after being spooked by a passing vehicle's backfire while its handlers were washing it outside the civic center. The animal was safely corralled back without injury, causing a temporary traffic disruption.
