Icelandic band Sigur Rós has released its first album in a decade, ÁTTA, which features the sound of strings surrounding the voice of Jónsi. The bandmates reunited in Jónsi's basement before heading to Abbey Road studios to record with the London Contemporary Orchestra and conductor Robert Ames. The album has a heavy but hopeful feel, with Jónsi describing it as a response to the doom and gloom of current events. The band has been together for 28 years and has a unique ability to communicate without talking, allowing their music to come from somewhere above and become a song.
