Historic Theatre Tickets from Lincoln's Assassination Auctioned for $262K

A pair of theatre tickets used on the night Abraham Lincoln was assassinated have been sold at auction for $262,500. The tickets, dated 14 April 1865, include handwritten details and were for seats in the front row of the theatre's upper level, directly across from the president's box. Only one other used ticket is known to exist, which is in the collection of Harvard University. John Wilkes Booth shot and killed President Lincoln at Ford's Theatre during the third act of Our American Cousin.
