Mia Schem Recounts Fear and Survival During 54-Day Captivity in Gaza
Mia Schem, a 21-year-old French-Israeli tattoo artist, was held captive for 54 days by Hamas terrorists after being abducted during a music festival near the Gaza Strip. She believes the only reason she wasn't raped by her captor was the presence of his wife and children nearby. Schem described her captivity as a time of constant fear, starvation, and psychological torment. She was one of over 200 hostages taken during an attack by Hamas militants on October 7, which resulted in more than 1,200 deaths. Schem was eventually released during a ceasefire and has spoken out about her ordeal, expressing her desire to expose the true nature of the people in Gaza as she perceives it.
