Embracer Group Shuts Down Insurgency Developer New World Interactive
New World Interactive, the developer behind games like Insurgency and Insurgency: Sandstorm, has been shut down by Embracer Group as part of a restructuring. The studio, which was acquired by Embracer Group in 2020, had multiple new games in development. Insurgency: Sandstorm, released in 2014, still had a significant player base. Embracer Group has not yet commented on the closure. This comes as Embracer Group has been laying off employees and potentially closing other studios.
