"Trump's Bond Dilemma: NY Attorney General Pushes Back"
New York Attorney General Letitia James' office urged a state appeals court to dismiss Donald Trump's claim that he couldn't secure a $464 million bond for the civil fraud case, criticizing his lawyers' arguments about the difficulty of obtaining the bond. They suggested Trump should try to get insurance companies to pool together to underwrite the bond or better explain the shortcomings in their negotiations, and criticized the reliability of sworn statements from Trump's insurance broker and the top lawyer at the Trump Organization. The attorney general's office also proposed that Trump turn properties over to the judge if he truly couldn't provide an undertaking.
