Jelly Roll to Bring Country Music to Genesee Co. Jail Inmates
Country music singer Jelly Roll, who spent time behind bars and is an advocate for inmate rehabilitation, has expressed interest in visiting the Genesee County jail in Michigan. Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson received a video response from Jelly Roll, expressing his desire to do a ride-along, visit the jail, and even sing to inmates. Swanson, who runs the IGNITE program in the jail, aims to reverse the cycle of generational incarceration through education and job training. He believes Jelly Roll's visit could inspire inmates to change their thinking and pursue a better future. Scheduling details are being worked out with Jelly Roll's management team as he is currently on tour.
