Trump's Expensive Expert Witnesses Bolster NY Fraud Trial Case
New York Attorney General Letitia James stated that former President Donald Trump's expensive expert witnesses are actually helping her civil fraud case against him. Two of the experts admitted that the valuations of some of Trump's properties were not proper. One expert is a member of Trump's Mar-a-Lago club and claimed to have been personally asked by Trump to assist in the case. Another expert, an accounting professor, testified that the value of Trump's triplex was inflated. Of the 11 experts called by the defense, two testified for free, while the rest charged over $2 million in total. The trial, seeking $250 million in damages and penalties, enters its eleventh week of testimony, with Trump expected to take the stand.
