The Impact of the WGA Strike on Industry Workers and Hollywood's Future.
The Writers Guild of America (WGA) has raised over $1.7 million to provide financial assistance to entertainment industry workers impacted by the ongoing writers strike. The funds will be administered by the Entertainment Community Fund and were pledged by WGA members including J.J. Abrams, Greg Berlanti, Adam McKay, Ryan Murphy, Shonda Rhimes, Mike Schur, and John Wells. The WGA is encouraging its members to contribute generously to the fund, which will provide relief to fellow film and TV workers who most need it. The WGA West also has a separate $20 million strike fund to help its own members during the labor action.
