NTSB rules out turbulence as cause of death on private jet flight.
A private plane that made an emergency landing at Bradley International Airport after a passenger was fatally injured did not experience turbulence, according to a new report by the National Transportation Safety Board. The pilots aborted a first takeoff attempt after conflicting information showed up on their flight displays, but a check did not show any damage. Once in the air, the plane experienced a "rapid pitch event," and autopilot was turned off. Shortly after, a passenger alerted the flight crew that another passenger had been injured. The airplane was retained for further examination.
