CD Projekt Red clarifies status of Witcher game projects.
CD Projekt has explained the decision to re-evaluate the development of 'Project Sirius', a new take on The Witcher series, which was first announced last October. The company established an impairment allowance related to expenses incurred developing the game, which totalled 33.4 million PLN ($7.6m) in 2022 and 9.5 million PLN ($2.2m) in the first two months of 2023. CFO Piotr Nielubowicz said the decision was made to stay innovative and experiment with new paths, and that it's better to cut costs early and restart if needed than to carry on.
