Canelo Alvarez defeated John Ryder in a unanimous decision victory in his homecoming fight near Guadalajara, Mexico. Although Alvarez put Ryder down in Round 5, he couldn't finish him off, and Ryder demonstrated his resilience by continuing to fight back. Alvarez is now eyeing a rematch with Dmitry Bivol, who defeated him in May of last year.
