Dionne Warwick Honored with Theater Renaming at Bowie State University.
Bowie State University in Maryland has named its performing arts theater after six-time Grammy winner Dionne Warwick, who has been a decades-long advocate for HIV/AIDS awareness. The university hopes to create socially engaged artists who use their art for social change. The theater will be the first performing arts venue named after Warwick, who has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and the R&B Music Hall of Fame. The university encourages everyone to come and see the talent it can display.
