Residents of four historic neighborhoods in Baltimore have filed a complaint in the city circuit court against Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) over the installation of exterior gas regulators. The residents claim that the regulators are unsightly and unnecessary and that BGE is not required by law or safety regulations to upgrade them. The lawsuit also alleges that the company is cutting gas service to some residents who refuse it access to their meters. BGE is relocating 11,200 indoor gas regulators by 2031, a project that will cost an estimated $105 million.
