Colombian Authorities Seize $113M Cocaine Haul in High-Speed Boat Chase
Colombian authorities seized $113 million worth of cocaine in the biggest drug bust of the year after a high-speed boat chase off the coast of Colombia. The 3.3 tons of cocaine, equivalent to 8 million doses, were confiscated from a boat in the Caribbean Sea, and five individuals were arrested. This was the second major bust in a week, with 1.7 tons of cocaine hidden in a shipment of avocados also seized at a port in Santa Marta. Colombia is the largest producer of cocaine, accounting for 70-80% of the world's supply.
