GW sells Virginia science campus to Amazon for $427 million to fund strategic initiatives
George Washington University sold its 122-acre Virginia Science and Technology Campus in Loudoun County to Amazon Data Services for $427,299,350. GW will remain on the property for up to five years as it relocates programs (including the School of Nursing) and will use the proceeds to create a quasi-endowment funding strategic initiatives and one-time faculty/staff bonuses, amid Northern Virginia’s booming data-center development.
