Majority of DGA Members Approve New Film & TV Contract, Avoiding Strike.
Members of the Directors Guild of America have ratified a new film and television contract with 87% voting in favor. The new contract secures gains on wages, global streaming residuals, safety, diversity, and creative rights. The agreement includes significant wage increases, a 76% increase in foreign residuals for the largest platforms, and curbs on the use of artificial intelligence in filmmaking. The DGA's board had unanimously recommended ratification.
