Deadly Fireworks Explosions: Tragedies Strike Texas, Michigan, and Maryland
Jared Scott Maddox, a 58-year-old man from Gilmer, Texas, was killed in a fireworks explosion in Upshur County. Four others were injured, with three in serious condition and one airlifted to Shreveport. The explosion occurred while preparing approximately 300 three-inch fireworks shells, and evidence suggests that an electric match caused the accident.
