"Prosecutors Decide Not to Charge Boy in Sacramento Child Shooting Case"
In Sacramento, Arkete Davis, 53, has been charged with criminal storage of a firearm, child endangerment, and illegal firearm possession after his 10-year-old son allegedly shot and killed another child with a gun found in Davis's car. The son, who was initially arrested, will not face charges. The gun was reported stolen in 2017, and Davis, a felon, was not legally allowed to have it. The victim, Keith Frierson, was one of over 1,600 children and teens killed by gun violence in 2023. Davis attempted to dispose of the weapon and is currently held without bail.
