Father Charged, 10-Year-Old Son Exempt in Sacramento Child Fatal Shooting
In Sacramento, California, the father of a 10-year-old boy has been charged with multiple offenses after his son allegedly shot and killed another 10-year-old child, Keith Frierson. The charges include allowing a child access to a firearm, child endangerment, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition, and destroying evidence. The incident occurred after the boys had a bike race, and the son accessed the loaded gun from his father's truck. The father pleaded not guilty to the charges, and due to the sensitive nature of juvenile cases, the District Attorney's Office has limited its comments on the matter.
